The .id.au is the recommended extension for personal domains in the .au. The "id" stands for individual. It is one of the easiest domains to register and requires very little information to be submitted in the registration process.
To be eligible to register a personal domain name in the .id.au you must be an Australian citizen or an Australian resident.
Domains in the .id.au must be an exact match of the registrants personal name, or they must be an acronym or abbreviation of your personal name, or be otherwise closely and substantially connected to the registrant, because the domain name is derived from one or more words of the registrant's personal name; or includes one or more words of the registrant's personal name, or is a personal name by which the registrant is known.
