Whois® TraceRoute.

TRACEROUTE

The Whois®TRACE utility is accessible from the domain availability search box found on most pages of the Whois® website. To perform a TRACEROUTE on a domain name, you just type directly into the Domain name availability search box above.

The first thing to do is enter a domain name that you want to query. In this case, let's do whois.com.au.

Type whois.com.au into the search box and press the blue Search button.

A new page will now appear with links to the results of your query on the domain.

If the domain is already taken, you'll be presented with 3 links at the top of the search result, that looks similar to the image shown below.

links that show when a search result is returned

Click the trace link and you'll be presented with a new window that will do a live traceroute of the original address.

Results take up to 30 seconds to return depending on the route being traced.

At the top of the results that return is a twitter Tweet this button.
If you are fam. with twitter, you'll be able to login to your account and tweet your TRACEROUTE search result.
